WHALE SONG

Whalesong is a picture book and supporting schools workshop programme, new for 2024. It will help normalise the feelings of grief; help bereaved children understand, express and manage their emotions; and prepare other pupils to support their friends and classmates.

Made for Year 3 and Year 4 in partnership with Hull Schools Library Service and Hull Libraries.

BESPOKE PROJECTS

'IT'S REALLY ENGAGED MY CHILDREN AND THEY'VE LOVED TAKING PART.'

Griffin Primary School Teacher

We deliver bespoke in school drama projects for a variety of educational settings. Typically these have been created in partnership with the school and have been delivered over 5 - 20 weeks.

In all these projects we have actively involved children and young people in the creation of a new play, exhibition or film. We use theatre making and devising activities to play alongside young people, interrogate a theme together and closely listen, to create something authentically from young people. We exist to amplify the voices of young people and give a platform to their ideas and creations.

We have experience working in a range of educational settings including special schools, nurseries and Pupil Referral Units.  We also have experience in fundraising in partnership with a school to make projects happen.

We are the Associate Theatre Company of Hull Libraries and have created projects with their Schools Library Service.

A lot of our projects have a public facing outcome - audiences that see shows or public exhibitions - helping embed the school and young people in their wider community.

If you have an idea for a project or are looking for an Artsmark Parter for an ambitious theatre making project we’d love to hear from you.
