SUMMER READING

CHALLENGE

In 2015 and 2016 The Herd were commissioned by Hull Culture and Leisure to produce shows, workshops and activity days that celebrated reading and got primary aged kids down to their local libraries over the long Summer Holidays. Both shows played in Primary Schools, Community Centres, Libraries and Hull City Hall, and each show was seen by over 13,000 children.

In 2016 the show was produced in partnership with Hull Truck Theatre.

ACCESSIBILITY

Every performance of SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 2015 and 2016 was relaxed - the audience area was well lit, and audiences able to come, go and make noise if they needed to.

The show was free for schools and toured to a variety of educational settings including primary schools, special educational needs schools, pupil referral units and libraries.
